Sorting Your Wardrobe Woes

If like me, you are only now thinking of your families (inadequate) summer wardrobe, I have just the answer. I am sure many of you have come across the divine Milliemanu childrenswear.

It was launched in 2010 by Camilla Ridley after she couldn’t find exactly what she was looking for to dress her daughter Emmanuelle.

It has grown since then and is now stocked internationally in stores such as Fenwicks and Igloo. There is currently a fab summer sale with 40% off which will totally save your bacon in the summer style stakes. Here are a few of my top pics.

Her new venture, Ridley London was launched this season with the aim of making better fitting sumptuous silk garments made to empower women to look and feel their best. Having piloted some womenswear alongside milliemanu events she discovered a huge need for shirts and dresses to be made to fit the individual. With her team of dedicated London based seamstresses, it is possible to bring this personalised service to her customers.

Millie Pink : Hot Hair Accessories

I’m a bit of magpie when it comes to brightly coloured accessories, so when I saw a few of the mother’s wrists at the school gates adorned with funky fabrics, I had to investigate. I was informed about a fantastic new website, Millie Pink.

Millie Pink was started by Kirsten, who was fed up with boring black hair ties that were too ugly to wear on her wrist and seemed to disappear as quickly as she could buy them, Kirsten set about to bring beauty and glamour to manes and wrists across Britain. It didn’t take long before she stumbled across some gorgeous foldover elastic in the most mouth-watering colours & funky prints and Millie Pink, named after her daughter Millie, was born.

Each hair tie is handmade in Berkshire with oodles of love and patience. Made from a super soft and stretchy fabric, Millie Pink hair ties will not only be incredibly kind to your hair, they look pretty cool on your wrist.

Whenever I ask a mother what their child is wearing, more often than not, it is from Spain. Spanish clothes are becoming more and more popular in the UK as some people veer towards a more traditional way of dressing their sprogs. BONNIE: Pure Wool Jumpers

Antonia set up BONNIE after an unsuccessful search for a pure wool cardigan for one of her daughters. The high street knitwear was a synthetic mix which she knew wasn’t going to last, wouldn’t be warm and she wasn’t prepared to buy cashmere at cashmere prices … ‘you have to grow into that’ she exclaimed!

All the BONNIE designs were drawn at her kitchen table and were then lovingly made in a Scottish mill in the Borders. BONNIE jumpers are very soft, come in great styles and colours. Most importantly are machine washable. You really can wear them everyday. Mothers and children alike love them because they are sensibly priced, look fabulous and the wool warm & durable.

The quality, price and timeless style creates a wonderful line and would be a great addition to a child’s wardrobe. I’m hoping she starts a line for adults!
