TLM Monthly Edit

TLM Monthly Edit : July 2017

3 days in to the holidays and summer feels over. Fret not though, August looks set to be shinier than the latter half of July AND there are some fab sales at the moment. (Like you have time to peruse… but hey, if you do!)

I have discovered a fantastic new website, Love The Sales.  It basically takes all the sale items from most high street shops like Marks and Spencer, John Lewis, Oka, House of Fraser and online websites (oxymoron yes, but trying to be clear!)  like Asos, Gap and Isabel Marant to name a few – and puts them all in one place.

As a mega fan of converse trainers and proud owner of my silver star ones, I am seriously contemplating buying another pair in advance  of them ever failing me.

Also includes Home, Outdoor and kids. Look at the bargains to be had on branded swimming floats!

Next up on my July hit list are a couple of weekend away ideas close to London (without the kids). The Horse Guards Inn near Petworth, West Sussex looks very cosy.

Black Pig Retreats near Shaftsbury in Dorset is a picturesque glamping site with ready made Safari Tents. Perfect for some quiet time or to get the kids out of the big smoke for a couple of days.

We all want to save a few pennies and Switchcraft can do it for you.

It’s an automated, free, energy switching website. Sign up with them for free (takes 2 minutes) and they keep you on the best deal, switching you when a better deal becomes available.

Started by Andrew and his wife who live in Barnes with their two pre-schoolers – it has gone from strength to strength and has enabled many families to save much needed pennies. The friend who introduced me to Switchcraft signed up in May & have already saved £500+.

If you are looking for a fun, time consuming (i.e. drag it out) craft activity try out Shrinkles. You may remember when you were little putting crisp packets in the oven (supervised of course) and they would shrink and harden – well now there is a way todo this properly. Cut out, colour in your Shrinkle, then whack it in the oven and out comes a little key ring or toy for them to play with that they have made!

New Kids on The Block!

Summerdown Mint is a farm in the Hampshire Downs that sell all things Peppermint. I particularly love their Black Mitcham Mint Body,Bath & Home Range. It is so fresh. They offer gift wrapping so a perfect present for someone who has just loved house.

Voted one of the top 13 Rose’s by The Independent and Waitrose, Make Me Blush not only looks swell it tastes great. By cutting out the middle man and having it delivered straight to your door from Italy, it is also significantly cheaper that it would be in shops.

Edward Bulmer is a pioneering creator of perfect colours using truly natural paint. Drawing on years of experience as an interior designer, (being a Daddy!) and inspired by nature, he has now created twelve beautiful new colours for children. The Nursery Collection is fun yet classic and adaptable enough to last throughout childhood.
