Since having children, I have developed a steadfast uniform of black jeans and a black vest in the summer and black jumper in the winter. Obviously I am slightly exaggerating, but when I am in a rush or feeling unimaginative this is my default uniform. Not only is it slimming/suits my colouring/is stylish, it is a great base for jazzing up with more interesting items, namely an embroidered / embellished / jacquard / beaded jacket.
